The trio recently became models for 'Heroes for Kakao'. Soyu was sadly absent from the shoot, but Hyorin turned into Cleopatra, Bora turned into Joan of Arc, and Dasom turned into Korea's own Hwang Jin Yi.

The staff said, "People mostly think of male heroes when they think 'hero', and we wanted to give a twist to that line of thought. However, we had a lot of obstacles to find models who would fit the role of the heroes. It's hard to find an image that can express the charisma of a hero and still pull off the beauty of a female hero. We chose SISTAR among a wide variety of possible candidates. We decided that SISTAR's image as a group as well as the members' colors would fit the heroic characters well."

150326 SISTAR to perform at Malaysia's sultan coronation ceremony with other world stars

We all know SISTAR is one of the hottest girl groups out there, but did you know even foreign royalty want to see them?

On March 23, SISTAR was chosen as the K-pop representative group to perform at Malaysia's official coronation ceremony for newly enthroned Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.

The celebrations will last from March 26 to 29 with performances from top singers worldwide, including the Black Eyed Peas and Malaysian singers Sheila Majid and Fuying & Sam. The performances will be held in Danga Bay and Johor Baru in Malaysia with an expected audience of 8000 people.

The organizers were said to have adjusted the coronation schedule, so that SISTAR could fit the coronation into their jam-packed schedule!

SISTAR really do have a busy schedule as they will head over to Hanoi, Vietnam for KBS' 'Music Bank' right after the coronation.

SISTAR is back for round two this summer with their new ‘special album’ “Sweet & Sour,” released today (August 26). Following up on their previous 2014 summer hit “Touch My Body,” the ladies are back with the fresh summer track “I Swear” and the ever-so-cute “Hold On Tight.”

Check out the music video for “I Swear”, visual artistry for which is done byLumpens, who previously worked with artists such as Tiger JK and Junggigo.

The new album also features some new remixes, the work of House Rulez, indie band Glen Check, Reno, DJ Smells, etc., for an electronic spin on classic SISTAR tracks.

140820 SISTAR Has an Amazingly Fun Summer Vacation in MV Teaser for “I Swear”

Following their “Touch My Body” comeback last month, SISTAR is heading straight into their followup promotions with a new album and song “I Swear.” A teaser video has just been released.

Set for release on August 26, they continue on with a fun summer theme, dancing on a beach and playing with fireworks. From the teaser, it sounds like another upbeat dance track.

140819 SISTAR unveils additional image teasers for Bora, Hyorin and Dasom for new upcoming track, “I Swear”

SISTAR is preparing to switch it up with their summer song promotions. After successfully promoting with “Touch My Body,” SISTAR is scheduled to release yet another summer track, “I Swear,” as part of a special album.

According to Starship Entertainment, “I Swear” is a summer track produced by the popular Duble Sidekick. “Sweet & Sour” will include a total of 6 tracks including remix versions of SISTAR’s hit tracks “Loving U” and “Touch My Body.”

Concept images for “I Swear” emphasizes SISTAR’s love for summer with an oceanic scenary in which the group visited Saipan for the album jackets and music video recording.

With each image concept, SISTAR’s beautiful body line is revealed as they are dressed to fit the summer bathing scene.

140814 SISTAR takes you behind the scene of “Touch My Body” MV

As SISTAR continues to promote their newest summer track, they have released the making film of their music video, “Touch My Body,” on August 14.

With the instrumental and vocal track playing in the background, the video reveals SISTAR recording the different scenes of their music video, including the pool and party scenes, in which the latter features comedian and entertainer No Hongchul.

Meanwhile, SISTAR is currently promoting “Touch My Body” successfully, winning several awards on the music weekly shows.

140813 An All-Girls-Night Stellar at SHINZU’I White Concert with SISTAR, A-Pink, and Soomin in Jakarta

The active girl-group who swept charts last week, SISTAR, became the night’s highlight and favourite.

With the concentration of the visit of K-pop boy groups to the capital city of Indonesia, ‘SHINZU’I White Concert’ certainly brings an arguably first ever all-girls-concert with SISTAR, A-Pink and Soomin headlining as artists from South Korea. Held at Istora Senayan last week, the venue was filled with an astonishing equal number of female and male fans to chant together in harmony! With an energetic opening act by Crispi Crunch (CC), a duo hip hop crew consisting of CSP and Cheezy who collaborated with former April Kiss member, Soomin. Clad in a sexy see-through top and black shorts, she got the crowd up with party anthems for the first time with unstoppable beats of We ain’t over, Boss Nice Shot, and Thumbs Up (check the CC crew out here).

Of course, the beautiful young girls of A Pink mesmerised the crowd with their unstoppable cuteness and love they reflected through their all-white costumes. Member Eunji was not present, sending a video message to everyone who has attended, which we assume that she is busy with her current drama filming, KBS ‘Lovers of Music’. With their hit tunes such as No No No’ and ‘Mr. Chu,Indonesian Pink Pandas – A Pink fan club name – are left for more as five songs isn’t enough – but rest assured as their first time in the country, they want to come back with all members present, so look forward to that and keep supporting them.

What it seems like the largest girl group ever in Japan and has its sister group,JKT48 with original Indonesian members can’t stop making a huge surge among its undeniable huge fan base. Their grand appearance (see here) with 24 members gave a different delight and appeal to the audience with their opening song ‘Gingham Check’ to ‘Musim Panas Sounds Good’.

Of course, the highlight of the continuing winner of music shows every week with their latest single, ‘Touch My Body’, girl group SISTAR performed their best despite their back-to-back schedule – member Soyou has previously shared at the press conference that they would be returning to Korea as soon as possible. Wearing their latest single’s swim-inspired outfit, they continued their interaction and performance everyone is dancing and singing along to ‘Loving You’ and ‘Ma Boy’! 140813 SISTAR and 4Minute to Appear on MBC’s “Star Gazing” with International Fans

Girl groups SISTAR and 4Minute will be comparing the scopes of their overseas popularity on an upcoming episode of MBC’s variety show “Star Gazing.”

According to a source in the industry, the two leading girl groups participated in filming the show on August 12.

For this special episode, the girls were joined by a number of their international fans as well as foreign stars residing in Korea. Some of the familiar faces include model Fabian and TV personality Robert Holley.

To find out what overseas fans consider to be the unique charms of SISTAR and 4Minute, the producers asked the international participants to share their opinions on the topic. It has been said that the fans surprised everyone with their honest and passionate answers, making the episode particularly entertaining.

The episode is scheduled to air on August 21 at 11:15PM (KST).

140810 SISTAR Wins 2 Weeks in a Row on Inkigayo, Performances from Block B, Ladies’ Code, Park Bo Ram, and More

This week on SBS’ “Inkigayo,” it was SISTAR vs Block B vs JYJ for first place. Block B’s “HER,” JYJ’s “Back Seat” and SISTAR’s “Touch My Body” competed against each other for no.1, with SISTAR winning. Congrats, SISTAR! This is their second week winning with “Touch My Body” on “Inkigayo.”

“Inkigayo” also provided a comeback stage for Ladies’ Code (“Kiss Kiss“) and debut stage for Park Bo Ram (“Beautiful“).

140807 SISTAR win #1 on August 7th “M! Countdown”!

The four-member girl group took the #1 trophy for their song “Touch My Body” for the second week in a row. The August 7th broadcast aired a highlight special instead of a regular program due to the upcoming “2014 KCON“.

SISTAR said, “We were surprised last week when we won #1 because we weren”t expecting it, but this time is even more surprising. We”ll show a more mature side in the future.”

140807 SISTAR Reveals That Hyorin Even Plays Hard-To-Get with Them

SISTAR members reveal that member Hyorin plays hard-to-get even with them.

On today’s KBS Cool FM Lee Sora’s Gayo Plaza, SISTAR played a game of answering questions. When asked “which member plays hard-to-get the most?”Bora answered saying “Hyorin even plays hard-to-get with her fellow members. It’s a bit weird.”

Dasom added: “Playing hard-to-get is nice, but it would be better if (she) doesn’t do it with girls too. It will just lead to a person getting hurt. One moment she’s very cold and then suddenly she’ll call me suddenly saying ‘Som-ah’, and I wonder what I really did wrong.”

Hyorin responded to her members complaint saying: “Isn’t a woman who plays hard-to-get charming? I’m not the type of girl that men usually likes. If you want to love and eventually be happy, isn’t thinking of breaking up usually the case (to be happy)?”

SISTAR members responded with her thoughts about breaking up as something weird but ultimately laughed it off.

140809 SISTAR”s Hyorin and Soyu discuss dating and duet with JungGiGo

SISTAR”s Hyorin and Soyu appeared on the August 8 edition of JTBC“s “Witch Hunt” and did a short performance of “Touch My Body“! In addition, Soyu talked about her collaboration with JungGiGo and the two talked about dating in general.

Soyu said, “When I first sang “Some” with JungGiGo, it was awkward, so I told him to look at my forehead and I”ll look under his nose. Later, we got more comfortable, so we started looking at each other in the eye. Because of that, there was a lot of talk that we were dating.”

The two members were then asked if they were the type to “lose during the day” and “win at night,” meaning they were more submissive during the day to their loved one, but took the reins during the evening.

Hyorin said, “It depends on the situation. If the guy fails to lead during the day, there are times I take the lead. If he wants to lead during the nighttime, I match up with him.”

Soyu said, “I only learned about dating through books, so I know only a lot of theories. I like reading Kwak Jung Eun“s writing in magazines,” but mentioned she would read it secretively because of the mature content. She said, “There are a lot of eyes at the salon, so I subtly leave it closed, then when there is no one around, I read it.”

MC Shin Dong Yup joked, “Kwak Jung Eun does a lot of good,” making everyone laugh.

140808 SISTAR’s Hyorin and Soyu Talk About Dating and Relationships on “Witch Hunt”

Girl group SISTAR members Hyorin and Soyu recently joined the MCs of JTBC’s “Witch Hunt” to discuss the often complicated world of relationships.

To celebrate the first anniversary of the popular talk show, the two idols were invited as special guests, and they ended up surprising everyone with their honest and straightforward comments.

Despite being in the same group, Hyorin and Soyu made sure to explain that their personal preferences are not completely alike, especially when it comes to relationships and men. In particular, the two showed opposite reactions to a message sent in by a viewer struggling to cut off contact with her ex-boyfriend.

Soyu related to the viewer, and expressed her thoughts saying, “It is difficult to end things easily. But I would hate if my boyfriend was like that.” Hyorin did not agree, however, and said to Soyu, “You only think about yourself,” while causing everyone else to burst into laughter over her blunt comment.

Later on, the two revealed what goes on during their free time: “Whenever we talk about men with our group members and have problems, we wish we could send our stories to ‘Witch Hunt.’” Hearing this, the MCs could not help but feel satisfied and smile.

In addition to Hyorin and Soyu, TV personality Sam Hammington made an appearance on the show’s anniversary special. This episode airs on August 8 at 11PM (KST).

140723 SISTAR continues to chart #1 with release of “Touch My Body”

Upon coming back to the K-Pop scene with “Touch My Body,” sexy girl group SISTAR has reached the #1 spot in a total of seven music charts!

Their mini album “Touch N Love,” as well as their music video comeback, are proving to be an instant hit with fans. Not long after being uploaded on Monday, July 21 (KST), “Touch My Body” spotted #1 on Melon, Mnet, Bucks Music, Olleh Music, Genie, Naver Music, and Daum Music.

It seems fans have been impressed once more with Hyorin, Bora, Soyu, and Dasom, all of whom had, whilst staying on the foundation of a sexy image, played off from there to show a youthful and attractive appearance for the summer season.

The additional use of saxophone instrumentals along with an addictive chorus make it an easy and enjoyable listen. Competing against such artists as Girl’s Day, Hyomin, f(x), as well as 4Minute’s Hyuna’s impending solo return, SISTAR’s comeback seems hopeful even in the face of competition.

140723 SISTAR Unveils Natural Sexiness in B-Cut Pictorial for “Touch My Body”

On July 23, SISTAR’s Bora posted on the group’s official Twitter account, “Here is SISTAR’s B-cut that we’re only showing to all of you!!! Our first broadcast stage is approaching. #SISTAR #TouchMyBody,” along with the never-before-seen pictorial for their new comeback title track.

In the photos, all four members of SISTAR can be seen wearing a variety of white tops with different colored shorts, for an overall casual style. Despite the natural outfit styling, they are still able to grab people’s attention by showing off their distinctive “healthy sexiness.”

A rep of SISTAR’s agency, Starship Entertainment, explained, “The main keyword of the new song ‘Touch My Body’ is ‘funkiness,’ so unfortunately this ‘natural sexy’ pictorial was chosen as a B-cut, although it’s a concept that best displays a ‘healthy sexiness’ that only SISTAR possesses.”

In other related news, SISTAR has maintained the number one spot on music charts for the past three days with “Touch My Body.”

140721 SISTAR Charms the Cast of “1 Night, 2 Days” with a Surprise Appearance

Girl group SISTAR made a special appearance on the latest episode of KBS2TV’s “1 Night, 2 Days.”

On the July 20 episode of the well-loved variety show, the cast members were joined by a number of teachers from schools around Korea. Together they went on a special summer trip, and the experience was wrapped up with an entertaining talent show.

Right before kicking off the talent show, SISTAR entered the room as guest judges to cheer up the teachers, some of whom had never before met a girl group in real life.

While most teachers locked their eyes on the girls in awe, one teacher attempted to stay true to his occupation and said, “Your outfits are a bit inappropriate,” evoking laughter with the witty comment.

SISTAR is finally back with the release of their second mini album “Touch N Move,” their first comeback in a year and two months. As long as it’s been, the group is packing a punch, featuring on the album renowned producers Choi Kyu Sung & Rado, Duble Sidekick, Kim Do Hoon, and others.

SISTAR’s new title track “Touch My Body” is a collaboration between producers Rado and Choi Kyu Sung, who have dubbed themselves “Black Eyed Pilseung.” “Touch My Body” is a hip-hop dance track that features a catchy melody and strong saxophone.
