140810 SISTAR’s Dasom and Actress Jung Ryeo Won Snap Selcas with Model Cole Mohr

American top male model Cole Mohr, who has modeled for several fashion brands such as Dior Homme, Marc Jacobs, and Burberry, is currently in Seoul andSISTAR’s Dasom and actress Jung Ryeo Won definitely took notice!

On August 7, SISTAR’s youngest member Dasom uploaded on her Instagram a photo of her seated closely beside the model Cole Mohr. Dasom had a smile on her face while Cole Mohr, whom Dasom described on her Instagram post as “so cool,” looked straight to the camera with a straight face. The two seemed friendly with each other as the photo showed the two sitting very closely and Dasom’s hand seems to be on the model’s shoulder.

While the friendship between Dasom and Cole Mohr is not entirely clear, actress Jung Ryeo Won has definitely made it clear to everyone that she is quite close to the international model as she posted a goofy photo of her and Cole Mohr on her Instagram on August 7 as well. Jung Ryeo Won described Cole Mohr as “playful” on her Instagram post together with a picture wherein the model wraps his arm around the actress and the two put on a goofy expression on their faces.

It was known that Cole Mohr also visited Starship Entertainment’s office on August 6 and met the rest of the SISTAR members as well as other artists under the agency such as JUNGGIGO, Joo Young, Boyfriend, and Mad Clown.

Cole Mohr was recently in Korea to shoot for a campaign under the fashion brand Customellow.

Meanwhile, Dasom is currently busy promoting with SISTAR who has recently made their comeback with the addictive song, “Touch My Body.” Actress Jung Ryeo Won, on the other hand, has recently appeared as MC in cable program “Art Star Korea.”

According to No Cut News, although many male idol singers have been appearing in dramas, actresses are the ones that have played the main characters in dramas. However, many broadcast companies have seen potential in female idols that they have started supporting them by giving them the role of the main character.

A good example of this would be A Pink’s Jung Eun Ji. Jung Eun Ji will be appearing on KBS 2TV’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama, “Trot Lovers” as one of the main characters.

Jung Eun Ji debuted as an actress in 2012 through tvN’s drama, “Reply 1997.” At the time, she gained popularity through her use of dialect and playing the part of the bubbly, female student.

However, she did have her downfall. After the success of “Reply 1997,” she appeared in SBS’s popular drama, “That Winter, the Wind Blows,” but many viewers expressed that her acting was awkward for not using any dialect. That’s why, “Trot Lovers” will be the drama where Jung Eun Ji will be re-evaluated as an “acting dol.”

Secret’s Han Sun Hwa and SISTAR’s Dasom are not that far behind from Jung Eun Ji.

Han Sun Hwa appeared in SBS’s “God’s Gift-14 Days,” making her known as an “acting dol.” The unexpected transformation of Han Sun Hwa is the result from appearing in this drama.

Dasom appeared in KBS 1TV’s “Melody of Love,” which ended not too long ago. This was her first time playing the lead character and she was able to show her stable acting abilities. Despite of the fact that several viewers said her facial expressions were awkward, through her acting, the viewer ratings went over 20% until the end of the drama.

Many female idol singers have tried acting, but there’s only a handful of “acting dols” who appeared in a drama as the lead. miss A’s Suzy, IU, and Girls’ Generation’sYoonA have risen to the status of acting a lead character.

For that reason, Jung Eun Ji, Han Sun Hwa, and Dasom are playing an important role for the broadcasting companies who are short on casting actresses in their 20s.

However, there are negative opinions regarding idols acting in dramas.

The Cultural Critic, Ha Jae Geun, did a phone interview with CBS No Cut News and explained that, “There really aren’t any eye-popping actresses and that’s why people are saying that broadcasting companies are going through a ‘20s actress famine.’ That’s why we need rookie actresses. Since idols are becoming popular as an actor, many are casting rookie actresses from female idol groups. If they were to cast idols who are already popular, then it will become a big issue in the beginning; it helps with promoting the drama and selling the copyrights internationally.”

He continued on by saying, “However, if broadcast companies use idol singers just for their popularity and not train them to become better actors, then that’s not good. I’m worried that the drama’s standards and an actor’s acting abilities will become lower.”

Idols who venture into acting face great criticism because of the stigma that they can”t act. Many are trying to change this perception, and SISTAR”s Dasom is one of them; however, it seems that she herself is disappointed in her output.

Dasom headlined the recently concluded KBS daily drama “Love Rides The Song” (also known as “Melody of Love”), but despite the time she spent as an actress, she admitted to be lacking in the acting department.

Starnews revealed an interview of the idol-actress on the 11th, and she shared, “My acting lacks a lot of things.”

“When I began filming the drama, people had high expectations of me as an idol-actress, and it was burdening. Looking back, I don”t think I managed to change the perceptions of idol-actors because of my acting.”

In addition, she said, “While watching “Love Rides The Song”, there wasn”t a moment where I was satisfied with how I acted. I was always thinking, “I could do better, but it”s a shame I couldn”t. Ultimately, I was always filled with regret.”

She continued, “I like acting, and I did it because I enjoyed doing it. I don”t know what the viewers think of how I acted, but regardless of their opinion, I just hope that they acknowledge that I did my best.”

“Love Rides The Song” is about the aspiring musician Gong Deul Im (Dasom), and her quest to perform on stage one day.

140612 SISTAR member Dasom stays positive despite the criticisms she receives in acting for “Melody of Love”

On June 11, SISTAR member Dasom shared her thoughts about her portrayal in her recently ended drama “Melody of Love” in an interview with Star News. She shared how overwhelmed she was in taking the project and how she portrayed a role as an actress this time.

Dasom played as Kong Deul-im in the drama “Melody of Love” who aspired to be a musical actress. The drama aired in November last year and ended on June 6 this year. She confessed that the drama project had been a big challenge for her.

Dasom shared, “People think of me as an idol so some really threw their criticisms on me when I acted in the drama. It was actually a burden to me at that time.” She added, “But then, I take those criticisms positively to improve my performance.”

Dasom also talked about how she evaluates herself and said, “I sometimes watch my performance in the monitor whenever we film. But I didn’t think how I could improve well. Just then, I realized that I should’ve done something much better. I somehow felt some regrets.”

She added, “I liked how I acted in the drama but I really want to enhance my skills. And I do not know how people really thought of my performance. In fact, I cannot please everybody and make them love me. I really want to know what they think of me so that I’ll know what to do.”

Finally she said, “Melody of Love is one of my first acting projects and I admit that it’s been a challenge to me.”

SISTAR’s Dasom will be participating in the third theme song for the KBS daily drama “Love Rides the Song.” The “Love Rides the Song” production team revealed this on March 5, saying that the song “Ya Ya Ya,” featuring Dasom, singer Kim Tae Hyung, and various musical actors, would be released that day.

“Ya Ya Ya” is the opening title song heard during the first scene of the first episode, featuring a catchy chorus and a melody that is easy to sing along with. The song is acollaboration between Choi Chul Ho, the musical director for the dramas “Slave Hunter” and “Good Doctor,” and composer Jo Yong Hoon. Lee Sung Kwon, the president of Deohagi Media, said, “As Dasom’s first OST, the ‘Love Rides the Song’ soundtrack is garnering quite a bit of interest, showing off Dasom’s singing.”

There is talk of girl group Sistar member Dasom starring in KBS 1TV’s drama “Beans and Fields.”

According to multiple sources, Dasom has been offered the female lead role of Song Deul Im, who is an aspiring musical actress.

On the morning of the 11th, a rep from Dasom’s agency stated, “We are in the process of review but nothing has been confirmed yet.”

“Beans and Fields” is about three families who learn to appreciate each other and apologize for hurting one another in the midst of an individualistic society. More casting news today. SISTAR‘s Dasom is in talks to lead a new KBS1 daily drama titled “Kong-ga-ne Batt-ga-ne” (romanized Korean), according to her agency,Starship Entertainment.

The agency responded after rumors that Dasom was about to be cast in the drama started to hit the media. Starship Entertainment stated that Dasom received the casting offer and went to a meeting with a drama rep, but nothing has been decided.

If confirmed, Dasom will be the lead character in a drama that centers around the important of family. It is set to premiere in November after the currently airing KBS daily drama “Sweet Springs” finishes its run. It will be directed by Lee Deok Gun and written by Hong Young Hee.

SISTAR member Dasom recently give her praises to one of the most talented kpop singer of all time. Bada is known for her beautiful songs that would make a listener move and entails a deep meaning of the song.

SISTAR’s Dasom shares that the veteran singer Bada is a legend when she was still in high school.

Bada’s newest performance was ‘Immortal Song 2′ made Dasom praise the veteran singer stating, “I’m so moved by Bada sunbaenim’s passion that it almost brought me to tears.”

Dasom also added her first encounter with the singer stating, “Because Bada is my sunbaenim at Anyang Arts High School, I am very familiar with her. 130705 Super Junior-M’s Henry Says SISTAR’s Dasom is Just His Style

Unafraid to say what’s on his mind, Super Junior-M’s Henry stated that SISTAR’s Dasom is completely his style.

On July 4’s broadcast of KBS’ Happy Together, Henry appeared as a guest, along with Kyuhyun, Dasom, Soyou, 4minute’s Hyuna, and Heo Ga Yoon. 

When Dasom came out on the set, Henry couldn’t take his eyes off of her, making Yoo Jae Suk ask why Henry is staring at Dasom. 

Without a moment’s hesitation, Henry replied, “She’s totally my style,” making the entire studio burst into laughing at the honest confession.

Kyuhyun then told Henry that he’s not supposed to say things like that on broadcast, and Henry apologized, only to have everyone laughing even more. 

Throughout the broadcast, Henry continued to boldly express his thoughts, causing much laughter to erupt in the studio. The MCs also teased Henry on his little crush on Dasom throughout the entire show, reminding Henry that it′s not a blind date.

SISTAR Dasom revealed her strict ways of diet.

In KBS program “Hello” aired yesterday, a girl who doesn’t eat a lot but loves food came out. She has a skinny body at the weight of 44kg but she has to eat every 30 minutes to be satisfied.

Hearing this story, Dasom said, “When I was 55kg, I wanted to lose weight. One time, I just spit out chicken after tasting it.”

About the secret behind SISTAR’s popularity, Dasom said, “We have bodies and faces of someone who would be living next door to you. We’re not exactly the fairie type, are we?”
