SISTAR's Hyorin, Bora, and Dasom turned into heroes!

The trio recently became models for 'Heroes for Kakao'. Soyu was sadly absent from the shoot, but Hyorin turned into Cleopatra, Bora turned into Joan of Arc, and Dasom turned into Korea's own Hwang Jin Yi.

The staff said, "People mostly think of male heroes when they think 'hero', and we wanted to give a twist to that line of thought. However, we had a lot of obstacles to find models who would fit the role of the heroes. It's hard to find an image that can express the charisma of a hero and still pull off the beauty of a female hero. We chose SISTAR among a wide variety of possible candidates. We decided that SISTAR's image as a group as well as the members' colors would fit the heroic characters well."

Following their “Touch My Body” comeback last month, SISTAR is heading straight into their followup promotions with a new album and song “I Swear.” A teaser video has just been released.

Set for release on August 26, they continue on with a fun summer theme, dancing on a beach and playing with fireworks. From the teaser, it sounds like another upbeat dance track.

As SISTAR continues to promote their newest summer track, they have released the making film of their music video, “Touch My Body,” on August 14.

With the instrumental and vocal track playing in the background, the video reveals SISTAR recording the different scenes of their music video, including the pool and party scenes, in which the latter features comedian and entertainer No Hongchul.

Meanwhile, SISTAR is currently promoting “Touch My Body” successfully, winning several awards on the music weekly shows.

140809 SISTAR”s Hyorin and Soyu discuss dating and duet with JungGiGo

SISTAR”s Hyorin and Soyu appeared on the August 8 edition of JTBC“s “Witch Hunt” and did a short performance of “Touch My Body“! In addition, Soyu talked about her collaboration with JungGiGo and the two talked about dating in general.

Soyu said, “When I first sang “Some” with JungGiGo, it was awkward, so I told him to look at my forehead and I”ll look under his nose. Later, we got more comfortable, so we started looking at each other in the eye. Because of that, there was a lot of talk that we were dating.”

The two members were then asked if they were the type to “lose during the day” and “win at night,” meaning they were more submissive during the day to their loved one, but took the reins during the evening.

Hyorin said, “It depends on the situation. If the guy fails to lead during the day, there are times I take the lead. If he wants to lead during the nighttime, I match up with him.”

Soyu said, “I only learned about dating through books, so I know only a lot of theories. I like reading Kwak Jung Eun“s writing in magazines,” but mentioned she would read it secretively because of the mature content. She said, “There are a lot of eyes at the salon, so I subtly leave it closed, then when there is no one around, I read it.”

MC Shin Dong Yup joked, “Kwak Jung Eun does a lot of good,” making everyone laugh.

Girl group SISTAR has officially kicked off the preparations for their upcoming comeback, “Touch My Body“!

In a teaser revealed today, the girls don flirty and pink outfits while going about chores in the house. Meanwhile, comedian Kim Bo Sung hilariously exaggerates gestures at the girls, adding a touch of comedy to the girls’ sweet concept.

The current MC for KBS“s “Music Bank“, SISTAR“s Bora, talked about her role on the music program!

Appearing on “Yoo Hee Yeol”s Sketchbook” along with another past “Music Bank” MC, 2AM“s Jinwoon, she said that she was a unique MC. “Although a lot of seniors have done it so I can”t specifically pick out a qualification [for being an MC], in my case, I add a bit of brightness and cheerful spirit,” she said.

140305 Ailee and SISTAR’s Hyolyn to Sing ‘Frozen’s ‘Let It Go’ Together on Music Core

Bringing two powerful voices together, Ailee and SISTAR’s Hyolyn will be having aduet performance of Let It Go on MBC’s Music Core.

Celebrating 400 episodes, MBC’s Music Core currently preparing special stages for its March 8 broadcast. Include in the special performances is a duet stage between Ailee and Hyolyn, who will sing the Korean version of Let It Go from the popular animated movie, Frozen.

It’s said the two singers will even come out dressed looking like the movie’s main character, Elsa.

Hyolyn sang the official Korean version of Let It Go while Ailee has performed the song on a music program before.

Starship Entertainment‘s artists K.Will, SISTAR and Boyfriend released a special Chuseok (Thanksgiving) greeting message today on their YouTube channel.

Subtitled in English, each of the singers tell fans to eat delicious food and to spend time with family members. Boyfriend also adds that you should make a wish on the full moon.

This year Chuseok falls on September 19, and is celebrated as a three day harvest festival. As a celebration of the good harvest, Koreans visit their ancestral hometowns and share a feast of Korean traditional food.

130910 SISTAR's Soyu and Mad Clown Unleash "Stupid in Love" Short MV and Track

It seems to be a popular theme in K-pop videos these days to go dark and gothic.SISTAR‘s Soyu and rapper Mad Clown go for a similar style for their collaborative single, “Stupid in Love,” as the short music video clip reveals.

For the hip-hop track, Soyu balances out Mad Clown’s skillfull rap with her sultry and emotional voice. The song is composed by Kim Do Hoon and Min Yeon Jae. The lryics tell the story of two sides- a good girl having her heart broken and a bad guy angry with the separation. The single is available for purchase on iTunes.

Meanwhile, Starship Entertainment has hinted that there will be more collaborations coming between artists from the agency and from its independent label Starship X. Can’t wait!

130729 SISTAR’s Soyu throws impressive first pitch for Doosan Bears

SISTAR’s Soyu received much praise for her impressive first pitch.

On July 28, Soyu threw the ceremonial first pitch for the Doosan Bears and LG Twins game held in the Jamsil baseball field. Appearing to the field sporting Doosan uniform, she carried herself confidently and received much support from the crowd for her impressive pitch. The game announcer even shouted, “Oooooh~ Strike!” with much excitement.

After the event, Soyu posted on SISTAR’s official Twitter, “It was my first time throwing a ball so I was worried and practiced a lot~ It was amusing and fun!! With a flying foul ball came luck. It did hurt a bit. Best Feeling!!”, and attached the above photo.

130630 SISTAR takes 2nd win on SBS Inkigayo + other performances

SISTAR continues to sweep the weekly music charts, taking their 2nd SBS INkigayo win tonight for “Give It To Me” against Lim Kim’s “All Right” and Lee Seungchul’s “My Love” with 10,554 points!

Comeback performances for tonight included 4minute with “Is It Poppin’”, which was followed by an amazing dance intro by Sohyun, as well as Girl’s Day’s return with “Female President.”

130620 SISTAR Announces "Give It to Me" Cover Contest

Calling all dancers! Hot idol group SISTAR is holding a dance cover contest for their latest hit,”Give It to Me.” and wants you to participate. The group announced the contest with a video with English subtitles through their agency’s official YouTube channel.

To participate, simply upload a video of your dance cover for “Give It to Me” on YouTube and enter the URL at SISTAR’s official Facbook. You can dance as a solo or a group. The application period starts today and ends on July 14 (Korea time). The winners wil be determined by how many likes the video gets and by SISTAR themselves. The winners will be announced on July 19 and one winner will win the grand prize of autographed SISTAR’s album collection (“Push Push,” “Shady Girl,” ”How Dare You,” “So Cool,” “Alone,” “Loving U,” and “Give it to me”). 130610 SISTAR Releases 2nd "Give It to Me" MV Teaser Feat. Comedian Shin Dong Yup

SISTAR has released their second music video teaser for “Give It to Me” and unlike their first teaser, this one takes a humorous tone by featuring comedian Shin Dong Yup.

Shin Dong Yup plays two roles int the music video- the host of a documentary program going behind the scenes of SISTAR’s music video and the director of the music video. Shin Dong Yup, who is known for his R-rated comedy, brings his trademark to the music video but showing himself oggling at the SISTAR members through the monitoring screen.

Viewers also get a taste of the music, set, and dance of the actual “Give It to Me” music video, which promises to be theatric, dramatic, and spectacular.

130607 Sistar’s New Song ‘Give It To Me’ MV Teaser Released

Girl group Sistar released their teaser video prior to their upcoming comeback.

June 7, Sistar released the teaser for their music video “Give It To Me” via Starship Entertainment’s official YouTube channel. The music video contained the theme of “Moulin Rouge” where all the members of Sistar turned into complete divas in their lingerie-like outfits.

Sistar’s music video resembled a scene from a musical because of the large set.

People in the online community responded with comments like, “Seems like I’m watching the Moulin rouge and Taeyang’s Circus at the same time”, “I think it will be Sistar’s best album”, “I can’t wait to see the full music video” and “Sistar is going to be a big hit.”

Sistar’s second official album’s title song “Give It To Me” has been composed by Double Kick who also composed Sistar’s song “Loving U” that was released last year.

Sistar will hold a showcase on June 11 at the Lotte Card Art Center in Seoul to announce their official comeback.

130429 SISTAR’s Bora Saves MBLAQ’s Mir in the Army

SISTAR’s Bora made MBLAQ Mir’s army life so much more enjoyable with just one phone call.

On April 28, Mir called up all the female celebrities in his handy notebook as promised to his army seniors on MBC’s Real Man. With excitement and adrenaline rushing through their veins, the seniors waited to get the chance to talk to a female celebrity.

However, luck seemed to not be on his side, as Mir called up Kara’s Nicole and SISTAR’s Soyou, who both did not pick up, making Mir start sweating bullets as the happy faces of the seniors began to wash away

He called up SISTAR’s Bora, silently praying for Bora to pick up, and to Mir’s luck, she did, making Mir thank her endlessly for saving his butt while in the army.

With Bora enthusiastically giving permission, the phone was then handed to Mir’s squad commander, who had a difficult time hiding his glee. He and the other comrades sang Gone Not Around Any Longer, making Bora very impressed and touched.

Following the phone call, Mir returned to his squad’s dorm and sprawled out on the ground in comfort with his squad commander’s permission. The squad commander even added that the squad will do everything around Mir′s schedule.

‘Superstar K4‘s Hong Dae Kwang has joined SISTAR‘s Soyu for a duet!

This duet, which is called “Good Bye“, is a part of Hong Dae Kwang’s debut album coming up on the 19th, but it has been released earlier as a pre-release.

“Good Bye” has not only been written by the singer, but composed by him as well and with the emotional vocals of Soyu joining the song, it should definitely capture the hearts of music fans who love a slower-paced song.

Fighting off the cold and looking sexy while doing it, SISTAR19 revealed the making of its music video forGone Not Around Any Longer.

On February 20, SISTAR19 released the BTS footage of the music video set, showing the girls flaunting their sexy dance moves as well as getting intimate with an actor.

While they fought off the unavoidable cold of the winter, Bora and Hyolyn became trapped in a box, which awesomely collapsed with the beat of the song.
